Frogs

Musical : To Be A Frog
Frogs: There’s nothing to compare to a day in the swamp.
From Lily pad to lily pad we hop, hop, hop.
We wallow and we swim in the cold and the damp.
We never tire of muck and mire. We love the mud and the glop.
Its lovely to be a frog. Croaking upon a log.
Blinking your eye and catching a fly or two, or three.
It’s lovely to be a frog. Here in a mossy bog.
Smelling the rot. Oh, this is the spot
For you and me.
We sit around and sing in the ooze and the slime.
We haven’t got a worry or a care to spare.
We sit around and soak in the wet and the grime.
The lovely weeds, the bugs they breed,
The sound of the buzzing in the air.
Its lovely to be a frog. Croaking upon a log.
Blinking your eye and catching a fly or two, or three.
It’s lovely to be a frog. Here in a mossy bog.
Smelling the rot. Oh, this is the spot For you and me.
It’s lovely to be… A frog! Ole!

The Tortoise and the Hare 1

Musical: The Tortoise and the Hare
Sheep: Friend Tortoise, you look so sad.
What is the Matter? What is Wrong?
Your nose is on your chin, And your chin is on the ground.
Tortoise: ‘Tis the Hare, he is cruel! He’s a monster!
Making fun of me and calling me names.
Because I’m slow. Because I’m slow. Because I’m terribly, dreadfully slow!
Sheep: Come, my friend, don’t fret. He’ll get his comeuppance.
Bragging and conceited folks like him always do.
Tortoise: Stop! You don’t know what I’ve done.
He’s challenged me to a race and I said, “yes.”
Sheep: You’re a fool!
Tortoise: I know. But there’s nothing to be done about it now.
Sheep: When is the race?
Tortoise: Two o’clock.
Sheep: See you then. Good luck.
Chorus: What an exciting day for a race! What an exciting day!
We are here to shout and cheer and laugh our cares away.
We are here to shout and cheer and laugh our cares away.
Tension mounting, my heart is pounding. Waiting for the race to begin.
All these people! Simply astounding! Cheering for their fav’rite to win.
What an exciting day for a race! What an exciting day!
We are here to shout and cheer and laugh our cares away.
We are here to shout and cheer and laugh our cares away.
What an exciting day for a race! What an exciting day!
Sheep: Hold! Who goes there?
tis the Tortoise, ‘tis the Hare.
Hush, so we can hear what they are saying.
Hare: Good day, my friend. Good day, my friend. And how are you feeling today?
Tortoise: You’re not my friend. You’re not my friend. There’s nothing that I care to say.
Hare: Come, come, my friend, why not unbend? You’re much too tense. I meant no offense.
Tortoise: I won’t unbend. You’re not my friend. There’s nothing that I’d care to say.
Hare: (to chorus) Good day, my friends.
Chorus: Good day, my friend. And how are you feeling today?
Hare: Full of wit, my friends. Very fit, my friends. And happy to see you today.
Chorus: It will be fun to see you run. And what a match. Will he ever catch you?
Hare: Let’s begin. I know I’ll win. So why should we wait and delay?
Sheep: ( announcing) The race is about o begin!
Chorus: The race will begin, now. Who will win it? The race will begin, now.
Hare: (confident) I will win it!
Tortoise: (timidly) I may just surprise you all and win it in the end.
Chorus: What a spunky little fellow, didn’t know he had it in him.
We will have to wait for the conclusion of the race to see who the winner will be.
(in hushed excitement) I wonder who will win. I wonder who will win. I wonder who will win.
Who will win?…. Who will win?…. Who will win?…. Who will win?
Sheep: On your mark! Get set! Go!
Chorus: What an exciting day for a race! What an exciting day!
We are here to shout and cheer and laugh our cares away.
We are here to shout and cheer and laugh our cares away.
Hare: Ah, This is the best! I’ll pass the toughest test.
I’ll win the race with the greatest ease. I’m just a fellow who like to tease.
With a la, la, la, la, la. And a La, la, la, la, la.
I can see the tortoise trudging along. I know he is singing a an unhappy song.
Oh, What a pathetic sight, He’s waddling left and right,
He’s no competition for me. Ah, This is the best! I’ll pass the toughest test.
I’ll win the race with the greatest ease. I’m just a fellow who like to tease.
With a la, la, la, la, la. And a La, la, la, la, la.
This is the life. This is the life. This is the life. The life, the life!
Tortoise: Oh, woe is me. I’m a fool. Un buffuno. Trying to be what I was never meant to be.
Ah, Vanity, I won’t be number uno. I live my life inside a shell, I’m never free.
My heart is breaking . My legs are aching.
If you want to see someone who’s miserable, Look at me!
Ah, Tragedy, life is bleak, life is gloomy. My mournful song is filled with tears and misery.
(Gives up and sits down.)
Chorus :
One more step. Don’t give up. One more step. Don’t give up.
One more step. Don’t give up. One more step. Don’t give up.
Tortoise: Chorus:
It doesn’t matter. One more step. Don’t give up.
It won’t make any difference. One more step. Don’t give up.
All is Lost! One more step. Don’t give up.
The Hare has won. One more step. Don’t give up.
Tortoise: He hasn’t won it. He’s not here. Don’t give up.
He never even finished. One more step. You can win.
Sheep: you can win. You can win.
Tortoise: I can’t believe it! Can it be true?
Chorus: Congratulations! The winner is You!
Hare: (wakes up) Ah, This is the best! I’ll pass the toughest test.
I’ll win the race with the greatest ease.
I’m just a fellow who like to tease.
Tortoise: Victory is mine! Victory is mine!
Hare: Oh, what do I see? The winner isn’t me.
Tortoise: You fell asleep and I won the race.
Hare: I’m too embarrassed to show my face.
Tortoise: Victory is mine! Victory is mine!
Chorus: Hurrah! Hurrah for the winner! What an exiting race! Hurrah! Hurrah for the winner!
What an exiting race! Slow and Steady wins the race!
Slow and Steady wins the race!
Slow and Steady, Slow and Steady, Slow and Steady wins the race!

Slow and Steady, Slow and Steady, Slow and Steady wins the race!

Boy who Cried Wolf

Musical: Hey, Wolf, Wolf!
Man: Now listen kid, ya gotta watch the sheep.
Now do a good job and don’t fall asleep,
Cause there’s a mean old wolf that’s been hangin’ around
And he sneaks up behind you, without any sound.
And before you can count from one to five
There’s a sheep on the ground, more dead than alive.
And before you can count from five to ten,
He’s a-lickin’ his lips and startin’ over again.
Boy: But, what do I do if I see this beast
And he starts in havin’ his lamb chop feast?
Man: Just run down the hill yellin’ “wolf!” real loud,
And before you know it, there’ll be a crowd of
Villagers here with loaded guns,
And we’ll blow that wolf to kingdom come.
Now, do you understand what you have to do?
Boy: Yes, sir!
Man: Goodbye!
Boy: So long.
Man: Toodle-loo
(Boy and Sheep dance)
Boy: Boy, what a drag, Man, what a bore,
Just hangin’ out here and watchin’ the store.
There’s nothing’ to do and I can’t go to sleep
Or that mean old wolf’ll come and eat the sheep.
Hey! I got an idea. Oh, man, what a gas!
I’ll get a little company up here fast.
I’ll just yell “wolf!” at the top of my voice,
And they’ll all come a-runnin’ ’cause they’ve got no choice.
Hey! Wolf! Wolf! Hurry up quick!
I’m holdin’ him off with a great big stick!
Hey! Wolf! Wolf! I’m not gonna last!
And speed it up, Fella, ’cause I’m fading fast!
Men: (Enter with guns) Well hurry up and tell me where the wolf is, son,
And I’ll finish him quick, you see I’ve brought my gun.
So just point him out and I’ll get it done.
Boy: The Wolf isn’t I was just havin’ fun.
Man: You crazy kid! What’d ya do that for?
Boy: This job is a drag, man. It’s really a bore.
Man: Don’t do it again or I’ll really get sore.
Just do as you’re told and mind the store.
(boy and sheep dance)

I can see that you’re havin’ a bit of fun,
But if you do it again, I’m not gonna come.
(Dance as before then notices wolf)
Boy: Hey, what’s that movin’ behind that tree?
Is that the mean old, bad old wolf I see?
Well, jumpin’ jehosephat and holy smoke.
It’s really the wolf this time, no joke!

Milkmaids dream

I’m on my way to market, to sell my pail of milk
My dress is simple, shabby and torn,
Someday it will be of silk,
Soft and elegant silk, soft and elegant silk.
I’ll buy a hen with speckles that lays two eggs a day.
I’ll sell them to the minister’s wife,
And she will handsomely pay.
She will handsomely pay.
She will handsomely pay.
Then I’ll buy me a gown in a color that suits me best.
And I’ll tie up my hair with a ribbon to match,
And be prettier than all the rest.
And all the young men will admire me.
And many will see and desire me. They’ll kneel at my feet,
They’ll beg me to dance,

I’ll not even give them a glance.

Miser Love song

When I see you, my heart begins to flutter.
When I’m near you, I tremble with delight.
And my brain turns to melted peanut butter.
Knowing you’re there, will make a cloudy day seem bright.
There’s a hunger that’s stirring deep within me,
And I know it’s not candy that I crave. You’re my sugar, you’re my cream.
You fulfill my every dream.
Oh, my Dearest, I love you so. (Dramatically)
Every morning I know that you await me
In your bed made of warm and earthy brown.
You’re my honey, sweetie pie, And I’ll love you ‘till I die.
How you shimmer, how you shine, I’m so happy that you’re mine.

Oh, my dearest, I love you so.

King of the Jungle

Oh, it’s a beautiful day, with plenty of sunshine.
The birds are singin’ in sweet harmony.
When you’re king of the jungle, everything’s fine, all the time.
Oh, it’s a beautiful day to look for a rainbow, there’s a feeling of spring in the air.
When you’re king of the jungle everything’s fine, all the time.
I can’t find a cloud in the sky. Looks so good I wish I could fly, got a song I’m ready
to sing, About the birds and the bees, about everything.
Well, it’s a beautiful day, everything’s peachy.
Feel like clickin’ my heels in the air,

when you’re king of the jungle everything’s fine, All the time.
