Spotlight Of The Week Oct 14th
These video clips are from last week. Sorry for the delay, I had a bit of problem with my camera (it hasn't been quite the same since it went for a swim on a scout trip).
Keeping Students Well
We had a few children absent today because of sickness. Please don't send your child to class if they have cough, runny nose, etc. We will miss them, but we would rather not pass sickness around the class. We will make sure they catch up on what they missed in class.
School Performances
We have a couple of school performances scheduled and have some classes from Canyon, East Meadows, and Riverview coming to see the show. All teachers should have received an e-mail with the information. Please talk to your child's teacher, and encourage them to bring their class or school. It is so much fun to perform for a theatre full of elementary children. If they have any questions please have them call Karma @ 801-494-4730. Thanks!
Performance Dates
We have the performance dates scheduled. The first day on the stage is Wed. Mar. 17th. We will have rehearsals throughout the week ending with a special performance on Tues. Mar. 23rd. Opening Night is Wed. Mar. 24th. School and public performances on Mar. 25th& 26th. Our Final performance will be a matinee on Sat. Mar. 27th. So please mark your calendar now.

Our students are working hard on the Jitterbug number. It is crazy fun, and quite a challenge. The video shows that they are coming along just fine. Thanks again to all who have joined the blog.

Sp Fk. Classes will begin Wednesday Sept.9th.Everyone is welcome if you have friends or family please have them come and join in the fun.Our Production this year will be:
"Munchkins"Munchkinland is one of the most beloved parts in The Wizard of Oz. It is full of colorful little ones, grateful to Dorothy for saving them from the wicked witch. They praise her with singing and dancing, while specialty vignettes shower her with gifts. Munchkinland is a huge part of the Wizard of OZ, and the children involved will have a great theatre experience. Come join us for a good time. This class is for youth ages 5-8. Class time for this group is from 4:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. The participation fee will be $40.00 a month, $35.00 if paid before the second class of the month. Plus a $35.00 lab fee, which includes a T-shirt, costume and script rental.
"Wizard of OZ" In this charming production based on the popular L.Frank Baum stories, Dorothy and her dog Toto are caught in a tornado's path and somehow end up in the Land of Oz. Here she meets some memorable friends and foes in her journey to meet the Wizard of Oz, who everyone says can help her return home, and possibly grant her new friends their goals of a brain, heart and courage. Tons of parts are available in this show. Comic Crows, Sassy Trees, Flying Monkeys, Laughing Ozians, Enchanted Winkies, Jazzy Jitterbugs, Handy farm hands, Wacky Wizard and of course Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tinman, Lion and the Wicked Witch, plus lots more. We will also need size appropriate children to be Munchkins along with other parts. The class will focus on singing, dancing and theatre skills. Come and join us for a trip down the yellow brick road. This class is for youth ages 9-18 and will be held on Wed. from 4:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Larsen Elementary. (Leads will need to attend from 4:00 to 6:00). We will perform in the large auditorium at Spanish Fork High School in March. The participation fee will be $40.00 a month, $35.00 if paid before the second class of the month. Plus a $35.00 lab fee, which includes a T-shirt, costume and script rental.
"TOTO" We are looking for a special dog and a dog handler to be Toto in the show. Please let Karma know if you might be this special dog owner.
Technical Theatre Class: The class is designed to teach students skills in each of the following areas: Venue Equipment, Lighting Techniques, Sound Techniques, Stage Equipment, Basic Technical Skills, Special Effects, Acoustics, and Communications Equipment. This class will be offered to Junior High aged and older (Adults are welcome). We have excellent teachers with years of experience in technical theatre prepared to teach this class. Class will be held Thursday from 6:00p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Class size is limited and will be on a first come first serve basis.
