It is hard to believe the summer is almost over and school is ready to begin. We hope you have had a great summer and are excited to start into another year of Youtheatre. You were fabulous last season and we have a fantastic year planned and can’t wait for you to join us!Registration and auditions will be Wednesday Aug. 26th and Wednesday Sept. 2nd from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Larsen Elementary 1175 E Flonette Ave (300 S). Sp Fk. Classes will begin Wednesday Sept.9th.Everyone is welcome if you have friends or family please have them come and join in the fun.Our Production this year will be:
"The Wizard of OZ"
Both Classes will be held Wednesdays at Larsen School.Auditions are not necessary, but if you would like to audition for a lead or speaking part, please come prepared to read and sing a small song otherwise, you may register and we will assign your child a part."Munchkins"Munchkinland is one of the most beloved parts in The Wizard of Oz. It is full of colorful little ones, grateful to Dorothy for saving them from the wicked witch. They praise her with singing and dancing, while specialty vignettes shower her with gifts. Munchkinland is a huge part of the Wizard of OZ, and the children involved will have a great theatre experience. Come join us for a good time. This class is for youth ages 5-8. Class time for this group is from 4:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. The participation fee will be $40.00 a month, $35.00 if paid before the second class of the month. Plus a $35.00 lab fee, which includes a T-shirt, costume and script rental.
"Wizard of OZ" In this charming production based on the popular L.Frank Baum stories, Dorothy and her dog Toto are caught in a tornado's path and somehow end up in the Land of Oz. Here she meets some memorable friends and foes in her journey to meet the Wizard of Oz, who everyone says can help her return home, and possibly grant her new friends their goals of a brain, heart and courage. Tons of parts are available in this show. Comic Crows, Sassy Trees, Flying Monkeys, Laughing Ozians, Enchanted Winkies, Jazzy Jitterbugs, Handy farm hands, Wacky Wizard and of course Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tinman, Lion and the Wicked Witch, plus lots more. We will also need size appropriate children to be Munchkins along with other parts. The class will focus on singing, dancing and theatre skills. Come and join us for a trip down the yellow brick road. This class is for youth ages 9-18 and will be held on Wed. from 4:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Larsen Elementary. (Leads will need to attend from 4:00 to 6:00). We will perform in the large auditorium at Spanish Fork High School in March. "TOTO" We are looking for a special dog and a dog handler to be Toto in the show. Please let Karma know if you might be this special dog owner.
Technical Theatre Class: The class is designed to teach students skills in each of the following areas: Venue Equipment, Lighting Techniques, Sound Techniques, Stage Equipment, Basic Technical Skills, Special Effects, Acoustics, and Communications Equipment. This class will be offered to Junior High aged and older (Adults are welcome). As part of the class, students will help with the technical part of our shows, working with lights, sound and stage management. We have excellent teachers with years of experience in technical theatre prepared to teach this class. Class will be held Thursday from 6:00p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Class size is limited and will be on a first come first serve basis.
