Spanish Fork Youtheatre 2013-2014 Season

Spanish Fork Youtheatre 2013-2014 Season
Spanish Fork Youtheatre is offering two great opportunities for the youth ages 5-18 in Utah County to be involved in a positive theatre experience. We will be presenting two different shows this year. Both shows will be a wonderful way for your child to develop their theatre talents. All shows will cost $40.00 a month, with a $5.00 a month discount if paid before the second class of the month. A lab fee of $40.00 per show will also be charged. This covers costume, script rental and T-shirt. To be registered for a class, you will need to pay for Sept. tuition. You may pay your lab fee at this time, but just paying the lab fee will not insure a spot in the class. Online registration begins Mon. Aug. 5th, at www.reconline.spanishfork.org. Auditions will be held August 28th and 29th Between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. at Larsen Elementary. Please bring your child one of these days so they can meet with instructors and be assigned a part. If they would like to audition for a singing role, please be prepared to bring a small song of their choosing. You may participate in more than one show. Please register for both classes if you would like to do so. Classes begin Wed. Sept. 4th.
Disney's Beauty and The Beast: (performing Mar. 5th - 8th of 2014) Class will run on Wed. 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. at Larsen Elementary, Sept – Mar. Step into the enchanted world of Broadway's modern classic, Disney's Beauty and the Beast! Based on the Academy-Award winning animated feature, the stage version includes all of the wonderful songs from the movie along with a few new ones written for the stage.
You will be transported to the heart of provincial life in a lovely French town. When Maurice becomes lost in the woods on the way to the fair, he seeks shelter in an old castle, but the master of the castle is a horrible beast that takes him captive. Maruice's daughter, Belle, must then give up her freedom to save his life. Belle's taming of the unfortunate Beast and his ultimate transformation back into a handsome prince enthralled Broadway audiences for over 13 years. This "tale as old as time" is filled with spectacular costumes, sets and most importantly opportunities for you to develop your talents! There are tons of speaking and solo parts for both males and females of all ages! Come and join us for theatre at its best.
The Hobbit: (performing Mar. or April of 2014 final scheduling will happen after Labor Day ) Class will run on Wed. 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Larsen Elementary. Sept - Apr. He enjoys a peaceful and pastoral life but his life is interrupted by a surprise visit from the wizard Gandalf and 13 Mighty Dwarves. They are embarking on a journey to recover lost treasure that is guarded by the dragon Smaug, at the Lonely Mountain. Gandalf has decided, much to Bilbo's chagrin, that the hobbit will make an excellent addition to the team and Bilbo is going to play the role of a burglar. On the journey, Bilbo and the dwarves encounter all sorts of villains and obstacles including Trolls, Goblins, Spiders, Elves and of course we mustn't leave out Gollum! There are a large number of speaking and solo parts both males and females in this play.
